FAQ

  • What makes Ingrain Wood Co. different?

Every piece we create begins with an idea—not a catalog. We combine traditional craftsmanship with modern CNC and laser technology to transform premium hardwoods into artwork that is designed to be enjoyed for generations. Rather than mass-producing décor, we focus on heirloom-quality pieces that celebrate craftsmanship, creativity, and the natural beauty of wood.

  • Are your products really made from solid hardwood?

Yes. We build our products from carefully selected hardwoods whenever the design calls for it. Depending on the project, available species may include walnut, hard maple, white oak, cherry, and other premium hardwoods. Every board has its own grain, color, and character, making each finished piece truly one of a kind.

  • Can I commission a completely custom piece?

Absolutely. Custom commissions are one of our specialties. Whether you have a sketch, photograph, logo, family heirloom, or simply an idea, we'll work with you to create a unique design made specifically for your home or business.

  • How does the design process work?

    Our process is straightforward:

    1. Share your ideas, inspiration, or reference images.
    2. We'll discuss dimensions, wood species, and design details.
    3. A digital design is created for your review.
    4. Once approved, production begins.
    5. Your finished piece is carefully inspected, packaged, and shipped.

Throughout the process, we'll keep you informed so you know exactly what to expect.

  • How long does a custom project take?

Lead times vary depending on the complexity of the project and our current production schedule. Most custom projects are completed within several weeks after the design has been approved. If you have a specific deadline, let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate it.

  • Can I see a design before it's carved?

Yes. We provide a digital proof before production begins. This gives you the opportunity to review the layout, proportions, personalization, and overall design before your project moves into production.

  • Are all pieces made in the USA?

Yes. Every piece is proudly designed and crafted in our Colorado workshop using premium materials and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Why won't my piece look exactly like the photos?

Wood is a natural material, and no two boards are identical. Grain patterns, color variation, knots, and figure make every piece unique. These natural differences are part of what makes handcrafted wood art special and ensure that your piece is truly one of a kind.

  • Do you work with businesses and designers?

Yes. We regularly work with interior designers, builders, architects, retailers, galleries, and businesses looking for distinctive custom woodwork. Whether you need a single statement piece or multiple matching items, we'd love to discuss your project.

  • What happens if my order is damaged during shipping?

Every order is carefully packaged to help ensure it arrives safely. If your order is damaged during transit, please contact us as soon as possible and include photos of both the packaging and the item. We'll work quickly to resolve the issue and determine the best solution.
